Platform license + metered usage vs committed minimums +
implementation · 46 contracts · synthetic data
The metered event, defined
(because an ambiguous meter is an unauditable invoice): one task
executed to completion and accepted by the customer's system. Retries,
failures, and internal test traffic do not bill. Every event carries
customer, robot, model version, and deployment ID, so any invoice line can
be traced to the events behind it and re-counted.

The two middle columns are the lines a subscription-only
walk doesn't have. In a usage business they are frequently the largest
movements on the page — revenue that arrived, or left, with no contract
event to anchor it.
Commit utilization — the action list

paying for capacity they don't use: downgrade risk at
renewal — showing top 6 of 11 by dollars at
stake. Deployments under 6 months old are excluded:
early low utilization is ramp, not risk.

Realized rate vs inference cost — the AI margin story
Blended rate compresses as mix shifts to larger tiers with
lower unit pricing — growth with rate compression, invisible in revenue
totals. Margin expands anyway because inference cost falls faster. Whether
that stays true is the single most important assumption in any AI-native
P&L.
